The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is currently seeking experienced and qualified individuals for the position of Public Information Officer. Under administrative direction, to perform professional and administrative work in planning, coordinating and performing communication activities and operations; to prepare and disseminate informational materials to the public and news media; to work closely with the General Manager and upper management; working with staff to provide technical assistance to staff in preparation of internal and external publications concerning Agency services, activities and functions; Will perform a variety of professional level duties in participating in the development, implementation, and coordination of public relations and community outreach activities; provides creative services and technical writing for newsletters, brochures, presentations, informational flyers, and award applications; participates in a variety of special events including tours of the facility, and displays in public venues. Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of assigned area of responsibility. Reports to Director of Finance.
Employee must possess at the minimum a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in communications, public relations, journalism, or a closely related field; and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public relations, writing, graphic design, video production, media relations and /or marketing. Experience must include preparation and production of both internal and externally oriented documents using graphics and desktop publishing systems. Prior governmental experience is highly desirable
Accounting Technician
$48,243-$58,779 + Excellent benefits
The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is currently seeking experienced and qualified individuals for the position of Accounting Technician. Responsible for providing technical support for receiving and disbursing funds and recording financial transactions (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable, and special projects), working with capital assets and inventory, arranges for the purchase of parts, equipment and services to repair and replace complex treatment units and ancillary equipment. for VVWRA. Performs a wide variety of duties requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and independence. Employee must possess at minimum a Bachelors degree in accounting or closely related field; AND one year of bookkeeping and accounting work experience, preferably in the public sector. Registration as a CPA preferred but not required. Full medical/dental benefits. Employer paid medical at retirement after 5 years vested with VVWRA.
